Wolfsburg looking to bite

After surprising everyone in German football last year – themselves included - by winning the Bundesliga title, Wolfsburg have crashed back to earth this season with das bump and have had a turbulent campaign so far. Armin Veh was sacked as manager after six months in charge, leaving the champions in mid-table. Lorenz-Gunther Kostner took over till the end of the season but has failed to find the consistency needed to compete against the top teams domestically. NFL jerseys

A poor defence has held back a team which boasts the free-scoring Edin Dzeko along with Brazilian strike partner Grafite. Dzeko and fellow Bosnian Zvjedon Misimovic have both been linked with summer moves away from the club, with AC Milan sniffing around Dzeko and league leaders Shalke interested in vice captain Misimovic.

After being knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage, Wolfsburg will be hoping to fair better with the Europa League Odds in this less glamorous competition. After overcoming surprise Russian package Rubin Kazam 3-2 in the last round, the German team face Fulham in the next round. After causing the shock of the tournament in the last round by coming back from a 3-1 first leg deficit against Juventus, Fulham will prove a tough test for Wolfsburg but one in which the Germans go into as favourites.

This will be Wolfsburg’s second trip to English shores this season and they will be hoping for a better result than the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United earlier this season. This is the first time either team has made the last eight of a European competition but with the league title firmly out of reach for Wolfsburg this is their last chance to salvage something from this season and their best chance according to Online Betting of convincing their prize assets that their future’s lie with Wolfsburg.
